MiniM carves pumpkins with Laura the Au Pair

Normally, my posts have some sort of morale attached to them, you know the sort of thing. I write a story about something cute MiniM has said and link it to some facet of modern life.

Well, I’m going to be a bit different this time. I am going to make observations. You make the links if you like.

Today was the first day that we had together after MrsM had left on her deployment. See here for why.

Because it was close to Haloween (or spooky holidays, or whatever you call it), we decided to carve some pumpkins.

No matter where you are in the world (within reason), you will see carved pumpkins at some stage.

We went to the supermarket and bought the last 3 carving pumpkins.

We rushed home to the house and after lunch we set to. MiniM wanted to download some templates and carve some fantastic sD model of something, but I much preferred the simple approach.

MiniM carved out a cat face, AuPairM carved out a ‘face’ and I carved out a vomiting face. My artistic flair won the day. Of course, I am DaddyM after all.

Tomorrow, we have Haloween and ‘trick or treat’. I have work tomorrow so I will have to rush home, and apply devil-face makeup.

As always, I will take photos. I always do. MiniM will be so pleased at her wedding/civil ceremony when I show the photos of her childhood. Although I should point out that today she remarked “Take my photo” “Are you going to put it on Facebook?” “Go on, put it on Facebook” Who says the youth of today are shy?

Love these pumpkin faces – especially the cat. Original and oh so cute! (my boys of course think that the vomiting one is cooler…)
